Sex During Pregnancy

In most cases, sex during pregnancy is safe. In fact, with your healthcare provider's OK, you can have sex until delivery.

But changing hormone levels and sone pregnancy symptoms, like nausea and tiredness, can reduce your sex drive. So can visible changes in your body.. Always talk with your healthcare provider about any concerns you may have about sex during pregnancy.

Stop having sex if you have:

  • Heavy vaginal bleeding

  • Pain during sex

  • Leaking of amniotic fluid

  • Contractions after sex that do not go away

Check with your healthcare provider if you have any of these symptoms.
